Alzheimer's Training

BANGOR – New England Home Health Care is sponsoring a course for specialized dementia and Alzheimer’s training for its home care staff.

NEHHC is a locally owned and operated company which has been committed to providing quality home health care and staffing services in Penobscot, Piscataquis and Hancock Counties since 1986.
According to President and CEO Kathy Frodahl, a registered nurse, “We recognize the increase of Alzheimer’s and dementia within our communities, and specialized training needed to care for those affected by these diagnoses.”

While NEHCC regularly offers training and continuing education programs for its staff of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nurse’s aides and personal care attendants, Frodahl said that “this type of training is not part of the routine curriculum offered to health care providers, and caregivers can easily become frustrated and ineffective when dealing with clients who have dementia.  NEHHC staff is passionate about providing care that is unique to the client.

NEHHC has teamed up with Dementia Care Strategies to provide this unique, specialized training in order to better serve clients with Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
